Louisa Carruthers, CFA

Portfolio Manager

Louisa Carruthers is a Portfolio Manager. She supports Fred Hervey with the management of the investment proposition and plays a key role in portfolio implementation. She joined Lincoln in 2016.

Louisa graduated from Durham University with a degree in Economics. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. She was named one of the Pam NextGen Leaders in 2024 and she won the WealthBriefing Rising Star Under 30 award in 2022.

Away from the office, Louisa enjoys sports and spending time with friends and family.

Angus Holmes


Assistant Portfolio Manager

Angus is an Assistant Portfolio Manager, providing support with the management of client portfolios.

Angus joined the team in 2022. Prior to Lincoln, he was an Investment Banking Analyst at Stifel Nicolaus Europe, as part of the Chemicals team.

Angus graduated from the University of Exeter with a 1st Class Honours degree in Economics and Politics. He has passed CFA Levels I, II and III and holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC).

Outside of the office, Angus enjoys playing cricket, climbing and reading.

Fred Hervey

Chief Investment Officer

Fred is the Chief Investment Officer and a founding partner of Lincoln Private Investment Office. As CIO, Fred is responsible for the investment proposition at Lincoln and chairs the Investment Committee.

Fred has been advising clients on their investments since 1997. Prior to Lincoln Fred was Managing Director and Co-Head of Berenberg Private Banking UK, where he focused on delivering the Investment Solution to clients. Before that Fred ran a team of bankers advising clients at Barclays Wealth having started his career at James Capel.

Fred is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI).

He studied Economics and Management at Royal Holloway University. Away from the office Fred is married with two children and enjoys travelling.

Michael Horsey, CFA

Associate Portfolio Manager

Michael is an Associate Portfolio Manager, supporting with the management of client portfolios. He also assists Stephen Kattou with the Advisory Investments proposition.

Michael joined Lincoln in 2019. Before Lincoln, he was an equity research analyst at N+1 Singer Capital Markets, an investment bank operating in the UK small cap equity space.

Michael graduated from Durham University with an honours degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.

Michael is married with one daughter. Outside of work, he enjoys playing sport, skiing and spending time with friends and family.

We are able to draw on the expertise and relationship network of our Investment Advisory Board. The board acts as an advisory body, providing macro-economic investment insights and introductions to new ideas, funds and investment themes.

Richard Davidson

Richard has over twenty-five years of experience in fund management and is currently Chairman of the University of Edinburgh Endowment Investment Committee.

Richard has had many high-profile roles including Partner at Lansdowne Partners and Manager of Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s $7bn Global Asset Allocation fund, where he was also Chief Investment Officer and Chief European Equity Strategist in London. Richard has held investment strategy consultant roles at Aubrey Capital Management and Rivercrest Capital.

Jason Mackay

Jason is a highly experienced investor.

He worked for 8 years in equities for UBS and was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley on their proprietary trading desk. Jason then managed an award winning $3bn Hedge Fund at GLG for 7 years.

Over the last 14 years, Jason has run his own money across private and public markets. He has also founded several companies and sat on numerous boards. Jason holds a degree in History from Durham University. 

Dipankar Shewaram

Dipankar is a seasoned investment professional having held senior roles at leading institutions for over 20 years. He was a Principal at BlueBay and Co-head of the investment grade and crossover businesses. Dip was previously Head of non-US credit at Western Asset Management, with responsibility for $25 billion of assets and oversight on a further $4 billion.

Dip is a regular guest lecturer at London Business School, focusing on macro investing and portfolio management. He also sits on the Motability Foundation Investment Committee and Westminster School Investment Committee.

Hugh Sloane

Hugh is an exceptionally experienced investor. He co-founded Sloane Robinson in 1993 and was the CEO until 2012. Hugh has been the manager of the International and Japanese portfolios since the firm’s inception.

Hugh began his investment career at GT Management in 1979, initially in Hong Kong and Japan, before moving to London as investment director of GT and Chairman of its European Investment Committee.

Our Strategic Advisory Board provides Lincoln with advice and guidance on the development of the business. The Board have all been involved in running their own businesses or large divisions of listed companies. Their experience and expertise impacts the longer term strategic decision making of Lincoln to the benefit of our clients.

Ausaf Abbas

Ausaf had a 25 year career at two US investment banks. He held the roles of Head of Sales and Marketing at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management and before that was Head of EMEA Global Private Client at Merrill Lynch.

He is the founder and Managing Director of Coombe Advisers, providing strategic, financial and investment advice to a range of clients and businesses.

Peter Harvey

Peter is the former Chief Executive of Barclays Corporate & Commercial Bank and Vice Chair of UK Banking. Peter worked at Barclays for 34 years, retiring from the bank in 2008.

Peter currently holds a number of non-executive director positions. He also spends his time mentoring individuals and businesses, and assists Saracens Rugby Club with their personal development programme.

Jason Katz

Jason is a founding partner of Kings Park Capital, a private equity manager investing in the European leisure sector. He has been involved in the leisure sector for 20 years, having started his career at SG Warburg (later UBS Investment Bank) where he spent 13 years leading his team.

Alongside Kings Park Capital, Jason holds a number of board positions.

Duncan McIntyre

Duncan is the former Chief Executive of Morse Plc, a technology company which he grew to be an international publicly quoted market leader. Following Morse, he became Executive Chairman of Monitise plc, a mobile banking and payments company, during which time it developed from concept to a market leading position.

Since then, Duncan has held several chairman and non-executive positions where he assists building and advising companies.
