Two senior figures in the UK wealth and asset management fields have joined the private investment office.
One of the most prominent figures in the UK wealth and asset management sector, Martin Gilbert, has joined the Strategic Advisory Board of Lincoln Private Investment Office, it said yesterday. The firm has also appointed Philip Byrne to the board. He is another senior figure in the financial sector, having served in roles such as those of Vice Chairman of UBS Investment Bank and UBS Wealth Management.
Gilbert, who co-founded Aberdeen Asset Management and was CEO of that business for 34 years, was at the helm when it merged with Standard Life in 2017. Until November 2019 Gilbert was chairman of the UK’s Prudential Regulation Authority’s Practitioner Panel, and was deputy chairman of Sky plc until 2018.
Byrne has also been a senior consultant for UBS, and is on advisory boards of several tech-driven firms within the industry.
Gilbert and Byrne will be joining Ausaf Abbas, former head of sales and marketing at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management and Head of EMEA Global Private Client at Merrill Lynch, Peter Harvey, former CEO of Barclays Corporate & Commercial Bank and Vice Chair of UK Banking, Jason Katz, a founding partner of Kings Park Capital and Duncan McIntyre, former CEO of Morse Plc, and Executive Chairman of Monitise plc.
The advisory board gives Lincoln advice and guidance on its business development.
